Shell Card takes out Canstar Award

The listening, tweaking and innovation has paid off for the team at Viva Energy with a Canstar Blue survey finding their Shell Card program was a big hit with small business owners

The Most Satisfied Customers Award in the Small Business Fuel Card category for 2023 has gone to Viva Energy’s Shell Card.

Judging for the Awards was decided by the results of a survey of more than 450 small business owners and key decision makers who were questioned about their use of fuel cards in the last 12 months.

Shell Card was found to be the leader in all eight categories, including Overall Satisfaction, Client Service, Petrol Station Facilities, Account Management, Loyalty Program, Fees and Charges, Petrol Station Availability and Fuel Discounts.

Jevan Bouzo, Viva Energy’s CEO of Convenience and Mobility, says it is pleasing to see the efforts of Viva Energy’s Shell Card team being recognised and appreciated by customers.

“Our team members are constantly striving to provide customers with service that exceeds their expectations,” he says.

“This award shows that their efforts are being recognised. It is also pleasing to see that Shell Card has become such a critical and practical tool for small businesses. We will continue to work to make Shell Card indispensable for Australian businesses.”

Over the past 12 months the Shell Card team has been focused on improving its offering, including development of its dedicated Australian-based call centre, the new Shell Card portal, and enhancements to the Shell Card GO app.

The Canstar research showed that the Shell Card outperformed the rest of the market across all variables, particularly on fuel discounts and fees and charges.

The research identified that client service and the loyalty program are the strongest drivers of overall customer satisfaction for small business fuel cards.
