Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL) has added four new board members at its annual general meeting this week.
After farewelling Jo Hansen of Brisbane, who spent one year on the board, and Simone Reinertsen, TWAL announced that Loretta Hartley of Toowoomba, Sydney’s Claudia Foini and Ainsleigh Thomas and Katrina Burns of Melbourne have joined the board.
“Jo has unfortunately been unwell throughout the year and TWAL thanks her for her valued service,” TWAL chair Jacquelene Brotherton says.
“Simon Reinertsen also left the board in September after three years and we’re very grateful for her contribution.”

The new directors joined the team that includes Brotherton as chair and Coralie Chapman as vice chair and company secretary, with Di Caldwell-Smith, Penne Murphy and Kat Attana also directors.
Loretta Hartley is the client manager of transport at AON Risk Services for the Toowoomba Management of Transport, Plant & Logistics portfolio in south-west Queensland.
Having been in the transport insurance industry for roughly 12 years, Hartley has been a long-term member of the TWAL team and was recognised by the TWAL Dream Maker Award while being an Elite Woman in Insurance Top 50 member.
Claudia Foini is the DXT NSW state manager (Doble Express Transport) based in Sydney, bringing 22 years of transport experience to TWAL. She has been a volunteer in TWAL’s schools and careers initiative and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.
Ainsleigh Thomas is the NSW/ACT state linehaul manager for Startrack in its NSW/ACT Operations and was a 2023 TWAL Driving the Difference scholarship recipient, an inaugural TWAL 2024 Young Gunnette award winner and a 2024 Road Freight NSW Emerging Leader finalist. She is currently a member of the Social Media Subcommittee.
Katrina Burns is the state manager of VIC/TAS for Silverback Cargo Care and she has been in the transport and logistics industry for 12 years. She was named as the VTA 2018 Young Achiever of the Year at the Australian Freight Industry Awards.
These four directors will join with the five current directors to form the largest board to have taken command of TWAL to date, allowing the organisation to continue its growth and produce further projects and initiatives to add ongoing value to present and future members.
This year, TWAL became a member of the ATA, continued its partnerships with Linfox, Prime Creative Media and Viva Energy Australia and partnered with Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds as well as embedding its membership of both the National Rural Women’s Coalition and the Australian Gender Equality Council.
TWAL also opened an office in Truganina in early November and is settling in nicely and looking forward to welcoming its members, sponsors and supporters to the new premises.
