Volvo Group Australia has issued a recall for 11 UD Trucks vehicles due to a software issue.
The recall impacts 11 UD New Quon models from 2018 to 2021, with the issue meaning the air dryer may send an insufficient frequency to the compressed air system.
This would allow water ingress within the air tanks and circuits – in cold temperatures the condensation in the brake airlines could freeze, leading to reduced or loss in braking performance and parking brake operations.

In addition, the extra load on the remaining brakes could then cause them to overheat, leading to a vehicle fire.
Volvo Group Australia says owners of affected will be contacted by the group to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and immediately rectified, free of charge.
