The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) is putting the call out to the local transport industry regarding infringement notices issued over road closures or roadworks.
The VTA says it is receiving information from members that the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has been issuing infringement notices over the past two months as a result of road closures or roadworks.
These works are happening in and around the Port of Melbourne due to the West Gate Tunnel Project.
“We understand that this ongoing infrastructure project and the unprecedented road closures are creating significant challenges for operators, and we want to ensure that these impacts are properly addressed with the relevant authorities,” the VTA says.

If your operation has been issued fines due to sudden changes in access to the roads around the Port of Melbourne and surrounding areas, we would appreciate it if you could share the details with us.
As part of the request, the VTA wants to know the nature of the fine, the location and circumstances surrounding the infringement and any additional relevant context.
All responses should go to James Williamson at james@vta.com.au.
