Young Gunnette Award

Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL) has revealed the two finalists for its inaugural Young Gunnette Award.

Set to be presented on June 1 at TWAL’s ‘Living the Dream’ conference dinner at Hyatt Place in Essendon Fields, it recognises and celebrates young female talent within the transport industry.

The two finalists are Ainsleigh Thomas of StarTrack, nominated by her workshop manager, and Ashley Belteky, a diesel mechanic for Kinetic.

TWAL says that both nominees “are individuals who have demonstrated leadership within the industry and who are bringing significant and positive change to the industry as well as inspiring others with their advocacy for the industry.”

It is one of the many ways the organisation “continues to promote, motivate, and encourage young females who are making strides early in their careers,” recognising the achievements of up-and-coming women.

The prize for the Young Gunnette Award will provide the recipient with training to assist them in their careers in transport and their roles within any organisations that they may represent as they progress throughout their professional lives.
